Consuelo Sandoval Leyba

A rosary is scheduled for 7:00pm, Friday, September 30, 2011 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Consuelo Sandoval Leyba 86, who passed away Wednesday, September 28, 2011 at Mission Arch Care Center. A funeral mass is scheduled also at St. Johns Catholic Church at 10:00am, Saturday, October 1, 2011. Father Juan Antonio Gutierrez of St. Johns Catholic Church will be officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Consuelo was born October 14, 1924 in Marfa, Texas to Jose and Flora Seinz Sandoval. Both parents preceded her in death. She married Thomas Leyba on October 2, 1948 in Pecos, Texas. He also preceded her in death.

She is survived by her sons Paul Leyba Sr., Lupe Leyba Sr., Benny Leyba, Jessie Leyba, Raymond Leyba, Tony Leyba and Lorenzo Leyba all of Roswell one daughter Maria Salerno of Odessa, Texas, fiftytwo grandchildren twentynine great grandchildren and one greatgreat grandchild. Consuelo raised three of her grandchildren Thomas Leyba, Virginia Rivera and Sylvia Leyba all of Roswell.

Consuelo lived in Roswell for fortyfour years coming from Carlsbad, NM. She was of the Catholic faith and a member of St. Johns Catholic Church. Consuelo was a homemaker and loved spending time with her family.

Pallbearers will be Karen Rascon, Monica Leyba, Edna Leyba, Sylvia Leyba, Rosanna Leyba and Roxanne Leyba. Honorary pallbearers will be all the remaining grandchildren.

The family will be gathering at 4405 N. Atkinson after the services.
