Clyde Gilbert Allensworth

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday July 7, 2008 at South Park Cemetery for Clyde Gilbert Allensworth, 84 of Roswell. Clyde passed away on July 3, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rev. Gorton Smith of First United Methodist Church will officiate.

Clyde was born on March 20, 1924 to James and Ethel Allensworth in Ada, Oklahoma. He was a lifelong Roswell resident. He married Betty Ruth West on October 26, 1946 in Tucumcari. She survives him at the family home.

Clyde was a member of First United Methodist Church. He was the owner of Clydes Auto Parts. He was very involved with the community. He was a past Trustee of the Elks Lodge 969, past Mid Day Lions President, past District Governor of Lions International, past President Board of Directors of Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, and past Chairman of Chaves County Commission.

He is survived by his wife Betty Allensworth,: Daughters Linda Bryson and her husband Bob of Las Cruces; Anita Thompson and her husband John of Roswell: Grandchildren Cassie Holloway and her husband Byron of Roswell; Kristi Bryson of Marina Del Rey, CA; Jessica Thompson of Roswell and Connor Thompson of Roswell: Brothers, Elbert Allensworth and wife Lorraine of Roswell; Ron Allensworth of Roswell. He was also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

The family would like to give a special thank you to the staff at Southeastern New Mexico Kidney Center, The E.R. staff at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center, Dr. Feroze, Dr. Dopulos, and Dr. Bolanos.
