Clemente Saenz Villescas White Cloud

A rosary will be held at 7 pm, Friday, July 29, 2011 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Clemente S. Villescas, 86, of Roswell who passed away Tuesday, July 26, 2011 at Mission Arch Care Center. A funeral mass will be held at 12pm, Saturday, July 30, 2011 at St. Josephs Mission Catholic Church in Mescalero N.M., with Father Paul Botenhasen officiating. Burial will follow at the Bent, N.M. Cemetery.

Clemente was born October 16, 1924 to Jose and Luciana Villescas in Nogal Canyon, Bent, N.M. His grandparents were Camillo Saenz and Reyna Gallegos. His great grandfather was Juan Saenz SpanishFrench origin. He was raised by his great grandmother Juanita Blanco Saenz SiouxZuni origin.
He attended school at Bent, N.M. where he walked approximately 10 miles across Nogal Canyon through the mountains. As a young adult he worked as a Logger in Mescalero, then went on to serve in the C.C. Camp. His profession during his adult life was ButcherMeat Cutter.

He is survived by his second wife, Maria Villescas of Roswell, his son Richard Villescas and his wife Linda of Ruidoso Downs, N.M. his daughters Dolores Rivera of Alamogordo and Jo Ann Matta of Roswell and Rebecca Wilson of Roswell, one step son Victor Soto and his wife Sonya of Roswell.
He raised a granddaughter Cassandra Soto.
Also surviving him are his brother Jose Villescas of Alamogordo, his sisters, Genoveva Gonzales of Roswell and Luciana Chevy of Roswell.
Clemente is preceded in death by his parents and his son Clemente Villescas Jr. Sonny.

Pallbearers will be Eric Villescas, Jose Berronus Jr., Richard Birch, Gabriel Matta, Victor Soto Jr. and Joseph Rivera.
