Clarabel Tanner

A funeral service is scheduled for 10:00 am, Saturday, April 20, 2013 at Ballard Chapel for Clarabel Tanner, 94, who passed away on Sunday, April 14, 2013 in Florida. Dr. Doug Mills of First United Methodist Church will be officiating with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Clarabel was born September 3, 1918 in Kansas City, MO to James Elbert Weir and Mary Brevard Dunson. Her parents preceded her in death.

Those left to cherish her memory are her sons Richard Tanner of Dallas, TX and Robert Tanner of Atlanta, GA her daughter Virginia Tanner of Miami, FL her nephew John Camp of Albuquerque, NM two grandchildren and two great grandchildren.

Clarabel graduated from University of Southern California, and received her Masters degree in Library Science in 1963. She later received her PHD in Library Science from Texas Christian University.
