Cindy Ann Charo
It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Cindy Charo, a beloved member of the Roswell community, who departed from us on Sunday, November 10, 2024, at the age of 65. Born in Roswell, New Mexico, on September 10, 1959, to Vicente Aguilar and Isabel Aragon, Cindy’s journey was one filled with love, generosity, and countless memorable moments.
Cindy was a woman of many talents and roles. She embraced her career as an accountant and a bookkeeper with diligence and integrity, yet her greatest joy came from the role she cherished most: being a stay-at-home mother. Cindy especially loved her six children and four grandkids so much. Her nurturing spirit extended beyond her home as she served as a parental engagement coordinator, ensuring that families felt supported and involved. In addition to these roles, Cindy followed her passion for cooking by starting her own catering business, a venture that brought joy to many through her delicious culinary creations.
She was even a foster parent of many children for many years. Raising and opening her arms and love to many children even when they were not blood. Feeding and caring for each one of them like they were her own. Making memories and giving these children hope and love that they didn’t normally receive, because they were taken away from their parents and put into the foster system. Giving them a chance to have a happy and loving childhood.
An avid participant in sports during her youth, Cindy graduated from Roswell High School in 1976, where she showcased her athletic prowess in basketball, softball, and volleyball. Her love for sports reflected her competitive nature and teamwork skills, attributes that she carried into every aspect of her life.
Those who knew Cindy often spoke of her very generous heart, which overflowed with love for everyone. She was always and active practicing catholic her whole life and a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Where she was a devoted member of the church community, teaching confirmation and catechism for many years. Where she brought warmth and kindness to everyone around her. Her intelligence and talent were evident in all she undertook, leaving an indelible mark on the lives of those fortunate enough to know her.
