Charles William Wieland
Services are scheduled for Monday, June 11, 2007 at St. Marks Lutheran Church at 11:00 a.m. for Charles William Wieland , 77, of Ruidoso Downs, NM who passed away June 07, 2007 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. Rev James Kuemmerle will officiate and burial with military rites will be conducted at South Park Cemetery.
Charles was born on March 26, 1930 in Boscobel, Wisconsin to Charles Franklin and Clara Augusta Heller Wieland. He attended Wauzeka Public Schools in Wisconsin. Charles married Frances P. Randolph on March 8, 1955 in Roswell, NM. She survives him at the family home.
Charles is also survived by his sons: Billy C. Wieland, Charles W. Wieland Jr. and Leo M. Wieland all of Ruidoso Downs; his grandchildren: Billie Jean Wieland, and James Daniel Wieland both of Ruidoso Downs; a sister: Mary Ellen Kephart of Monfort, Wisconsin; his nieces; Cindy Wheeler, Debbie Johnson, and Tammy OBrien.
Charles served in the U.S. Air Force during the Korean Conflict. He also was a mechanic at Walker Air Force Base in Roswell and worked on the B-36 Airplanes. He was employed as a boiler tech for the civil service. After his retirement he owned and operated Wieland Yucca Emporium on West 2nd St. in Roswell. He also enjoyed working on old cars and tractors. He was of the Lutheran faith and a member of the American Legion.
Pallbearers will be Miguel Ordorica, William Montano, James Wieland, David Lujan, Frankie Gonzales and Ronnie Randolph.
