Charles Owen
Charles Bruce Owen passed away in Lubbock, Texas on October 26, 2012 at the age of 76. He was born September 19, 1936 in Wills Point, Van Zandt County, Texas to Bruce and Dolly Parker Owen. They preceded him in death. He was also preceded in death by his beloved son Carl Wesley Owen.
In 1957 he married his teenage sweetheart Norma D. Doy Long Owen, a marriage that lasted 55 years.
Charlie retired from Quest Communications in 2003 as a facilities specialist. His tenure spanned three companies and more than 46 years.
Charlie loved his family and his kitties, Gabby and Smokey. He loved his pecan orchard and watching his trees grow. He liked to hunt and fish, and was a member of the National Association of Radio and Telecommunications Engineers.
He is survived by his loving wife Norma Doy of their home, as well as several cousins. Graveside services will be held at 1:30 pm, November 1, 2012 at South Park Cemetery with Larry Chapman officiating. Honorary pallbearers will be Herb Finney, Dr. Robert Rader, Bob Keesee, Gary Cullen, and Frank Webb, Qwest retirees, and neighborhood friends.
