Cerilia Soliz

Cerilia Archuleta Soliz, age 93, went home on Tuesday, December 21, 2021 at her home in Roswell, NM. From her birth in Arabela, NM on May 6, 1928 she nourished her family and people around her with love, faith, and food.

As the matriarch of the Soliz family, Cerilia will be remembered for her strength, amazing work ethic, and providing for her extended family. Cerilia enjoyed spending time with family, dancing, and playing dominos. In addition to working at Levi Strauss for 15 years and Roswell Medical, she also ran small businesses including house cleaning and being a tamale entrepreneur! She was a member of Sociedades Guadalupana and a devout member of Saint John's Catholic Church where she faithfully served in many capacities.

Left to honor Cerilia and remember her love are her children; Joe Soliz and wife Ester, Yolanda Gamboa and husband Johnny, and Mary Soliz. Her brothers; Frank, Serafin, and Tony Archuleta. Her grandchildren; Fernando, Andrea, Theresa, Chasie, Rene, Lillian, Valerie, Jacob, Josh, Evangelina, Nicole, Jennifer, Cynthia, Susie, Marvin, Myron, Ruby, Shannon, Stacy, Angela, Crystal, Eugene, Roxanne, Roseanne and great-grandchildren, great - great grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.

Cerilia was preceded in death by her parents Jose Miguel and Sara Archuleta. Husband Ramon Baca Soliz. Sisters; Felicita Cardona, Arabella Horton, and Josephine Dominguez. Brothers; Willie, Orlando, and Melvin Archuleta. Sons; Adam, Gene surviving wife Rosa Soliz, Jerry, and Melvin Soliz. Daughter; Yolanda Rita Soliz. Granddaughter Rosa Cortez, Grandson John Michael Gamboa.

Funeral services will begin with the viewing on Tuesday 12/28/2021 from 3:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. immediately followed by the Rosary at 7:00 p.m. at Ballard Funeral Home (910 S. Main St., Roswell, NM). The mass will be held Wednesday 12/29/2021 at 10:00 a.m. at Ave Maria Center (401 E. Bland St., Roswell, NM) with the burial to follow at Southpark Cemetary (3101 S. Main St., Roswell, NM) with reception to follow at Serenity Bingo Hall (1000 E. Bland, Roswell, NM) at 1:00 p.m.
