A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, March 26, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Carlotta Gonzales, 87, of Roswell who passed away March 22, 2008 at a local care center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.

Carlotta was born on September 6, 1920 in Carrizozo, NM to Marcial and Maria Ramirez Sanchez. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as four sisters and two brothers.

Carlotta is survived by her sons: Joe Steve Gonzales of Roswell, Raymond Lee Gonzales of Roswell and Paul H. Gonzales of Las Cruces, NM; her daughters: Mercy Roybal of Las Cruces, NM and Alice Alvarez of Albuquerque, NM; her brothers: Albert Sanchez of Moreno Valley, CA and Frank Sanchez of Mirada, CA; her sisters: Anita Palomino of Moreno Valley, CA, Julia Rogers of Harbor City, CA, Beatrice Edwards of Twenty Nine Palms, CA, Lily Ferreira of Roswell, Maria Spilky of Escalon, CA, Girty Acosta of Lubbock, TX and Cathy Hamilton of Yankee Ville, CA; her grandchildren: Susanna S. Gonzales, Brand A. Alvarez, Maria D. Gonzales, Alicia C. Gonzales, Raymond Joseph Bud Gonzales and Alura Lee Alvares; and great grand children: Raymond Frank Sedillo, Xavier Alvarez, Manuel Sedillo, Marivel Alvarez, Luchiano Alvarez, Isabella Victoria Gonzales, Leila Marie Alvarez, Raymond Bud Gonzales IV and Aalyha Sarah Reese.

Carlotta was a life long resident of Roswell. She was a member of the VFW Ladies Auxiliary 2575 for 10 years and a member of St. Johns Catholic Church.

Pall bearers will be Raymond Joseph Gonzales III, Brandon A. Alvarez, Jon Ferreira, Raymond Burns, James Stewart and Willie Acosta.
