Graveside services are schedule for 2 PM, Thursday, November 21, 2013 at South Park Cemetery for Calvin Lasiter, 69, who passed away Sunday, November 17, 2013. Pastor Gary Smith of My House Fellowship will be officiating.
Calvin was born October 19, 1944 in Choctaw, OK to George W. Lasiter and Willie Hassey Jones. His parents preceded him in death. He married Carman Marie Scoby she survives him at the family home in Artesia, NM. Calvin is also survived by his sons Shane Lasiter of Hobbs, NM, Scot Lasiter and wife Bonnie of Roswell, NM and Steven Lasiter of Artesia, NM daughters Whitney Garrett of Pulaski, GA and Sara Lasiter of Midland, TX stepdaughters Tonya Litrell, Sheri Jones and Samantha McCoy all of Roswell, NM brothers Jim Lasiter of Roswell, NM and Tim Lasiter of Farwell, TX sisters Opal Licon of Albuquerque, NM, Letha Hill of Artesia, NM and Rita Pendergraft of Roswell, NM eleven grandchildren and four great grandchildren.
Calvin resided in Artesia, NM for twentytwo years coming from Hammon, OK. He was a member of My House Fellowship in Artesia, NM. Calvin was a semiretired truck driver and diesel mechanic. His many hobbies were collecting guns, zippo cigarette lighters, pocket watches and knives of all sizes. Calvin loved hunting and fishing with his grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be dearly missed by all knew and loved him.
