Brian Dale Ballew

A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, December 10, 2009, at South Park Cemetery for Brian Dale Ballew, 66 of Clovis, NM who passed away December 7, 2009 in Clovis. He was cremated according to wishes. Steve Ballew will officiate.

Brian was born on May 1, 1943 in Salt Lake City, Utah to James Russell and Dorothy Ann Ballew. His parents have preceded him in death as well as his sister in laws Shirley Annette Ballew and Julia Johnson, a brother in law Cleon McLaughlin and several aunts and uncles.

Brian married Lilla Belle McLaughlin on May 6, 1961. His wife survives him at the family home.

Brian is also survived by son: Stephen Ballew and wife Cheryl; his daughter: Gayla Lonsdale and husband Ridley; his brother: J. Ronald Ballew; a grandson: Joel Ballew; a sister in law Alisa Runyan and husband John; a brother in law Calvin McLaughlin and his wife Jackie, as well as two aunts, one uncle and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

Brian attended and graduated Roswell High School in 1962 and then went on to attend the New Mexico State University. Brian was a book keeper most of his life. He was a life member of the Elks Lodge and current member of the Clovis-Portales Elks Lodge 1244. He was Past Exalted Ruler of the Clovis- Portales Elks Lodge 1244 in 1978 to 1979. He was also the past district deputy to the grand exalted ruler in 1994 to 1995, special deputy to the grand exalted ruler in 1998, and the treasurer to the Clovis-Portales Elks Lodge 1244 in 1992 to 2003.
