A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Thursday, March 27, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Brenda Lee Contreras, 29, of Roswell who passed away March 24, 2008 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Friday, March 28, 2008 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. The family will receive family and friends at Knights of Columbus after the service.

Brenda was born on August 11, 1978 in Roswell, NM to Alfred John Medina and Ramona Otero Medina. Her parents survive her in Roswell.

Brenda married Steve Contreras on July 5, 1997 in Roswell, NM. He survives her at the family home.

Brenda is also survived by her son: Steve Contreras Jr. of Roswell; her daughter: Vanessa Contreras of Roswell; her brother: Ernest Medina of Canutillo, TX; and grandfather: Benny Aragon; grand mother-in-law: Phillis Contreras; mother in law: Becky Gonzales; sister in law: Monica Contreras; brother in law: Richard Gonzales and Micheal Copntreras; aunts and uncles: Al and Margaret Meas of Alamogordo, Ms. Elaine Young and family of Albuquerque, NM, Mike and Christine Garcia and family of Roswell, Mr. Louis Garcia and family of Roswell;, Mrs. Karen Otero and family of Roswell, Manuel and Lola Otero and family of San Diego and Mrs. Yolanda Otero and family of Roswell; as well as numerous cousins.

Brenda was a life long resident of Roswell. She graduated from Goddard High School and was a member of St. Johns Catholic Church. She worked at McDonalds for 7 years.

She is preceded in death by Mr. and Mrs M.G. Otero, Ysebel Torrez, Kathy Garcia, Orlando Otero, Cissy Lucero and Carmen Aragon.

Pallbearers will be Susie Connell, Michael Contreras, Richard Gonzales, Michael Garcia, Rudy Vallejos and Sammy Garcia. Honorary Pallbearers will be Jeremy Sheppard and Michelle Sheppard.
