Bob Reed

Bob Reed was born October 24, 1923 to Rosa Tidwell Reed and Robert S. Reed Sr. in Quanah, Texas. He passed peacefully from this life May 20, 2013.

Bob graduated from Quanah High School and joined the 4th Division of the Marine Corps where he served in the Pacific region during World War II. After his service to our country he attended Abilene Christian College and earned a Bachelors degree in business administration.

Bob met and married his beloved wife Patsy at ACC in 1947. He and Patsy had one daughter Jamie Lee Reed and one son Robert Michael Reed. Jamie preceded him in death in 1991 and Patsy in 2002. He was also preceded in death by his parents, six sisters and two brothers.

Bob is survived by his son Mike Reed and his wife Gregi of Roswell. He is also survived by a grandson Robert Buie of Roswell, a granddaughter Tina Vaughn her husband Alan and their children Seth, Ava and Cora of Virginia and a grandson Justin Baber of Arizona.

Bob loved the Lord and was anxious to be reunited with Jesus and his family. He will be dearly missed and fondly remembered.

A special thank you to all the caregivers and physicians who took care of Mr. Reed. A special thank you to Christina Ruiz, Lilia Reyes and Vicky Taylor.

Bob will lie in state on Thursday, May 23, 2013 at Ballard Funeral Home from 8:00 A.M. to 7 P.M. Funeral service will be held at Church of Christ, Country Club Road on Friday, May 24, 2013 at 10:00 A.M, with David West officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery with Military honors as he served in the 4th Marine Division in the Pacific during WWII.

Pallbearers will be Tim Dunnahoo, David West, Carol Madsen, Glen Browning, Thomas Beard and Davis Bennett.

In lieu of flowers donations should be made to NM Christian Childrens Home in Portales, 1356 Hwy 236, Portales, NM. 88130.
