Billy Ray Wright born on July 25, 1931 in Hico, TX, who was called to heaven on Thursday, February 9, 2017. Billy was the son of Norvell and Pearlie Wright.
Billy enjoyed fixing and renting houses, fishing, grilling, boating, traveling, and most of all the time he spent with his family. He loved to gamble at his favorite place in Ruidoso. He loved to use his Spirit Card so he can get free nights. He enjoyed working and fixing things. He was an intelligent man that enjoyed buying and selling stocks. The mornings he spent with Annie on the back porch drinking coffee was how he loved to start his day. He was thrilled to buy the newest cars and tell us how quickly it would accelerate from zero to 80 mph.
Billy was a caring man that enjoyed placing smiles on everyone's faces. He didn't meet a stranger and found the good in everyone. He was a kind hearted man that would do anything for his family and would give the best advice. His full belly laugh could make anyone's heart melt. He loved hard and worked harder to make a better life for his children. He knew how to make a cent into a dollar. His caring touch was all that you needed to make your worries go away. He was a very generous man and enjoyed teaching his kids and grandkids new trades he learned though the years.
Billy's many endeavors included working at Woody's Truck Stop for many years, W-W Distributing and then settling into real estate and property management. Billy was involved with Noon Optimist Club even serving as president at one time.
