Betty Renfro

A prayer service will be held at 7:00 p.m. on Tuesday, January 13, 2009 at Ballard Funeral Chapel for Betty Mary Renfro, 81, of Roswell who passed away on January 10, 2009 at her home. Deacon Luis Romero will conduct the service. A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, January 14, 2009 at Ballard Funeral Chapel. Chaplain Cecil Kimberlin will officiate. Interment will follow the services at South Park Cemetery.

Betty was born on July 27, 1927 in San Patricio, New Mexico to Mort Prudencio, and Lorenza Montoya. They both preceded her in death.

On May 28, 1976 she married Joe B. Renfro. He also preceded her in death. Betty was a loving mother and house wife. She will be missed by all who knew and loved her.

Her survivors include her son, Mort Bates and his wife Deborah of Roswell; daughters, Loraine Lori Janssen and her husband Ed of Roswell, and Margaret Acosta of Artesia; brothers, Valentine Prudencio and wife Peggy of Geronimo, OK, Trent Prudencio and wife Emma of Lovington, NM, Claudio Prudencio and wife Anna of Roswell; her grandchildren, Sarah Estes and her husband Brandon of Roswell, and Kenneth Bates of Roswell. She is also survived by her great-grandchildren, Gage Estes, and Chance Estes.

Pallbearers will be Kenneth Bates, Brandon Estes, Michael Prudencio, Mark Prudencio, Raul Acosta Jr., Steve Prudencio, Claudio Prudencio Jr., and Benjamin Prudencio. Honorary pallbearers will be Don Bunce, Art Janssen, Don French, Marcy James, and Dale and Sue Rather.
