A memorial service is scheduled for 4:00 p.m., Sunday, June 28, 2009 at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Betty Jo OBrist, 62 of Roswell who passed away June 22, 2009 at her residence. A pot luck will follow services at 34 Geiger Place. Betty was cremated according to her wishes.

Betty was born on September 2, 1946 in Flint, Michigan to Glenn Shears and Virginia Irene Lloyd Shears. Her parents have preceded her in death.

Betty is survived by her daughter: Michelle Miles of Roswell; her sisters: Beatrice Boyle of Tennessee and Mary Edwards of Naples, Florida; her grandkids: Autumn Miles and Doug Miles; her brother in law: Tom Matthews of Ft. Meyers, Florida; her sister in law: Susi Hosier of Albuquerque, NM; her niece Stormy: Hosier of Ft. Meyers, FL; and her faithful dog companion Jiggy.

Betty was a member of Church on the Move. She loved to read, go camping and hiking. Betty was a movie buff especially for horror movies; she was also an artist and wrote short stories. Betty was a very wonderful person, very well loved by those who knew her.
