Betty Jean Chesser

Funeral services are scheduled for 10:30 am, Tuesday, February 21, 2012 at Ballard Funeral Home for Betty Jean Chesser, 87, who passed away Friday, February 17, 2012 in Roswell. Rev. Vern Edmondson of Ruidoso, NM will be officiating with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.

Betty was born March 5, 1924 in Roswell, NM to Ross and Fornia Williams Rutledge. She married Elgin Chesser on April 23, 1943 in Roswell. Bettys husband preceded her in death as did both of her parents. Also preceding her in death was her daughter, Lynette Chesser sister, Laura Gilmer and brother, Lee Rutledge.

Betty is survived by her daughter Gennean Hendricks and her husband Lonnie of Roswell sons Ross Chesser and his wife Connie of Roswell and Jesse Chesser and his wife Bobby of Roswell grandsons Rody Chesser and his wife Wendy, Taylon Chesser and his wife Sara, and Karl Hendricks and his wife Konni and one granddaughter Kacey Holt and her husband Bob and eleven great grandchildren.

Betty was a member of First Christian Church and a graduate of Roswell High School.
The family would like to give special thanks to Becky Hurford, Judy Glenn and Pat Thompson for their love and faithfulness.

They also extend special thanks to the staff at Heartfelt Manor for the compassionate care they gave to Betty during her time there.
