Betty M. Barbee

Betty M. Barbee was born January 18, 1949 in Columbus, Ohio to Lawerence and Dorothy Koop. Betty passed away on January 14, 2009 at her sisters home here in Roswell, after a long battle with lung cancer surrounded by family.

Betty worked in book keeping at Glover Packing Co. in the 70s then went to work for Joe Chumly in book keeping for Farmers Country Market Offices and later moved to Florida to be with her daughter in 2002 where she worked as a shipping supervisor for Trane MFG.

Betty is survived by her daughter Marcie Barbee Johnson and husband James of Panama City, Fl. Sisters, Dottie Holt and husband Russell of Roswell, Billie Johnson of Roswell. Vera Leveda and husband David of Roswell, Kathy Bledso and husband Oakie of Amarillo, TX and Gloria Skjernem of Sierra Vista, AZ and one brother Robert Bobby Johnson of Roswell one nephew Kevin Dillon and wife Cheryl of Roswell and numerous nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her father and mother and one brother.

Betty will be remembered as a loving mother and sister. She liked to Bowl and spend quality time with her daughter Marcie and her little dog Pukkie. A memorial service is scheduled for 6:00 p.m., Friday, January 16, 2009 at the Ballard Funeral Chapel. Memorials or donations can be made to Roswell Animal Shelter or charity of your choice.
