A memorial service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Saturday, May 8, 2010 at the First Church of the Nazarene for Ben E. Brown 53 of Roswell who went home to be with the Lord on May 1, 2010 in Ruidoso, NM. Randy Reeves and James King will officiate. Ben was cremated according to his wishes.
Ben was born on May 6, 1956 to Ed Coleman and Willie Mae Branham Brown. His parents have preceded him in death as well as his brother Bobby Brown, and his sisters: Shelby and Shirley Ann Brown.
Ben married Rita Carr on May 2, 2003 at the First Church of Nazarene in Roswell, NM. His wife survives him at the family home.
Ben is also survived by his children: Shelby and Stephanie Whato of Eugene, OR, Benjamin Tyler Brown of Reno, NV, Krystal Aragon of Roswell, Daniel Gamboa of Eugerre, OR, and Desiere Diaz of Grants, NM his grandchildren: Skyler Mason, Hannah Gamboa, Noah Gamboa, Damien Gamboa, Achilles Aragon, Justin Diaz, Veronica Diaz and Alex Diaz and his siblings: Faye Barnett of Roswell, Earsley Barnett of Roswell, Gary Brown of Roswell, Billy Brown of Roswell, Vickie Brinkley of Houston, TX, Leisha Brown Apodoca and Jerry Coleman.
He was a kind, loving man and a good friend to everyone. He never met a stranger. He played the guitar like nobodies business, enjoyed fishing and being with his family. He will be deeply missed but certainly never forgotten.
The family wishes to thank everyone that assisted in the situation that occurred at Bonito Lake on Saturday Afternoon.
Honorary pallbearers will be Phil Miles, James King, Sam Donahoo, Tommy Martin and any and all people he ever played music with.
