Becky Jean Taute

March 15, 1956 - August 15, 2023

With family by her side, Becky Jean Taute peacefully returned to her Heavenly home on Tuesday, August 15th, 2023. Becky was born in Roswell, NM to Roy G. Taute and Elizabeth Ruth (Greene) and was the third of seven siblings; Jeanette Smith (Dan), Harry Taute (Sam), Kevin Taute (Angel), David Johnson (Teresa), Sharon Owsley, Marvin Johnson (Michelle). She grew up in the Roswell area where she met and married C. Ed Willhelm, a soldier in the US Army. They served in Germany as well as several different states, including Missouri. During this time they welcomed four children; John, Bailey, Robert and Eric. When the children were still young, Becky moved back to Roswell where she was able to raise them as well as help care for her beloved grandmother and mother. During this time Becky held many jobs but her favorite was with the New Mexico Department of Workforce Solutions where she was an employment specialist. She loved the people she worked with and the people of the community she served.

When Becky was a girl she proudly joined the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints along with her mother and siblings. She remained a faithful member her entire life. After her children and grandchildren; Bailey and Julianna's sons Jason, Hunter and Alexander, Robert and Jennifer's children Lexi, Ryan and Natalie, and Eric's son Ethan, her greatest joy was serving in the temple. Becky was sealed to her mother Elizabeth and dad Marvin Johnson in the Salt Lake City Temple after his death. Becky held many church callings, but the one that really made her smile to remember was the years she spent having taught only young men in Sunday school. "Four years and there was nary a girl in the class".

Waiting to welcome her home was her mother Elizabeth, father Roy, Dad Marvin, sister Jeanette, and brother Kevin.

"In the darkest hours of my life I had asked the Lord to give me the time to raise my children. He has done that. I couldn't ask for better children, better family, better friends. Thank you Lord for it all, even the bad times, which made the good times so much sweeter".

Memorial services will be September 15, 2023 in Roswell, NM. A further announcement will be made once finalized.
