BARBARA R. WAGGONER
A graveside service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m. Monday, July 29, 2008 at South Park Cemetery for Barbara Ruth Waggoner, 67 of Roswell who passed away July 21, 2008 in Albuquerque after a long illness. Pastor Savino Sanchez of Church on the Move will officiate.
Barbara was born in Casa Grande, AZ on June 4, 1941 to Cecil M. Jackson and Ruth Gladys Allen Jackson. Her parents have preceded her in death.
She was graduated from Roswell High School and the University of Texas at El Paso with a degree in art, which she taught for several years at Morehead School in El Paso, TX.
Her commitment to the arts continued throughout her life and she was recognized as an accomplished painter, writer and poet.
Barbara married Richard Perham Waggoner, Jr. on August 16, 1979 in San Diego, CA. She and Rick returned to Roswell in 1993, where they owned a successful lock and safe business and were both active in community affairs. Her husband has preceded her in death.
She is survived by Eric D. Waggoner of Dania Beach, FL, and John M. Waggoner Christina of Houston, TX; grandsons Cameron Waggoner and Nicholas Waggoner of Dania Beach, FL.; cousins, Shirley Chandler Ray of Albuquerque, NM , Kathy Campbell Johnny of Albuquerque, NM and Jayne Wood of Waco, TX.; and many friends from Roswell, Grand Junction, San Diego and El Paso.
While Barbara had many causes, her passion was dogs and a small contribution in her name to the Roswell Humane Society will cause many tails to wag.
