A graveside service will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, November 7, 2008 at South Park Cemetery for Ava Lea Fennell, 86, who passed away on October 31, 2008 in Alamogordo. Pastor Richard Smith of Highland Baptist Church will officiate.

Ava was born on December 8, 1921 to George W. Jordon and Ida Mae Hawley in Vernon, TX. Her parents both preceded her in death.

Ava worked for the Roswell Sherriffs Department for many years as a police dispatcher. She loved to spend time with her family, and friends.

She is survived by her son; Gerald Jerry Edward Fennell, her sister; Mary Raudenbush, her brother; M.U. Jordon, her grandchildren; Jeffery Shawn Fennell, Lane Garrett Fennell, Makaela LaRae Fennell, Michael Scott Fennell, Sydnee Ray Nelson Fennell, Shelby Nichole Fennell, Kacee Emily Jade Nelson Fennell, Blake Austin Fennell, and many other grandchildren.

Visitation will be Thursday from noon until 7:00 p.m.

Arrangements have been entrusted to the care of Ballard Funeral Home and Crematory.
