Aurelia Abby Gustamantes

A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Sunday, July 11, 2010at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Aurelia Abby Gustamantes 73, of Roswell who passed away Thursday, July 08, 2010 at her home. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Monday, July 12, 2010 at St. Peters Catholic Church. Interment will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Abby was born on June 18, 1937 in Gobernador, New Mexico to Pedro Cordova and Ramoncita Trujillo. His parents have preceded her in death as well as one son Sylvester Gustamantes, brothers: Ciriaco, Vicente, and Cipriano Cordova grandparents Ciriaco Trujillo, Aurelia Garcia, Miguel Cordova and Juanita Samora.
Abby married Silvestre Gustamantes in Aztec, NM on June 19, 1953. He survives her at the family home.
Abby is survived by her sons: Robert L. Gustamantes and his wife Brenda of Roswell, Levi D. Gustamantes and his wife Adrienne of Roswell, daughters: Hopie Espinoza of Roswell, Emma Jean Hutcherson and husband Terry of Roswell, brother: Pete Cordova and wife Alice of Albuquerque, sisters: Esther Valencia of Aztec, NM, Ophelia Espinoza and husband Sam of Lee Acres, NM and Mary Gonzales of Albuquerque, grandchildren: Paul Espinoza, Jason Gonzales, Gus Hutcherson, Tracy Hutcherson, Tabitha Garcia and Allison Gustamantes, thirteen greatgrandchildren, and numerous nieces and nephews.
Abby has been in Roswell since 1953. She was a member of St. Peters Catholic Church. Abby like to enter the Eastern New Mexico State Fair with her needle point, crochet and many other crafts, which she won many blue ribbons.
The family would like to give special thanks to Vista Care Staff Frances and Rosa. Also, Dr. Badine and staff at the Cancer Center and the many nurses at ENMMC, especially Jerolyn.
Pallbearers will be Paul Espinoza, Jason Gonzales, Gus Hutcherson, Eric Espinoza, Sebastian Herrera and Leroy Trujillo.
