Aurelia Espinoza Garcia known by friends as Lela or Lia
A rosary will be held on Tuesday, May 8, 2012 at 7 pm at St. Johns Catholic Church in Roswell for Aurelia Espinoza Garcia 80, who passed away Saturday, May 5, 2012 in Roswell. A funeral mass will also be held at St. Johns Catholic Church on, Wednesday, May 9, 2012 at 10 am., with Fr. Juan Antonio Gutierrez officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery in Roswell.
Aurelia was born November 23, 1931 in Roswell, New Mexico to Mariano and Maria Ortega Espinoza. She was preceded in death by her parents two brothers Salomon Espinoza, Daniel Espinoza, a sister Alicia Briseno, and a grandson Manuel R. Lara.
Aurelia is survived by her loving husband of sixtyfour years, Tony G. Garcia of the family home son Antonio Garcia Jr. and his wife Vangie daughter Loretta M. Sandoval and her husband Joe daughter Rita Lara son Tommy P. Garcia and his wife Deanna and son David A. Garcia and his wife Tina her grandchildren Danny and Karin Chavez, Gerald and Lisa Chavez, Greg and Audra Chavez, Kathleen and Bill Jones, Naomi Sanchez, Joshua and Chastidy Garcia, Antoinettte and Rich Yeager, Greg and Kathy Sandoval, April Avitia and Albert Hernandez, Denise Otero and Juan Haro, Veronica and Rudy Rael, Regina Sandoval, Christopher and Sabrina Lara, Manuel R. Lara, Raymond N. Lara, Jennifer Garcia, Michael Paul Garcia, Art and Lorena Garcia, Mike and Danielle Garcia, Monica and Jose Villanueva, Sean Aguilar and Daniel Romero. Also surviving her are fortytwo greatgrandchildren and twelve great greatgrandchildren.
Aurelia was a lifelong resident of Roswell and a member of St. Johns Catholic Church in Roswell. She was a member of a number of organizations such as: Catholic Daughters, Roadrunner Sertoma, Knights of Columbus Auxiliary, Eucharistic Minister, Guadalupana, Hospitality Committee and Associate of The Sorrowful Mothers.
Pallbearers will be Joshua Garcia, Christopher Lara, Raymond Lara, Michael Paul Garcia, Mike Garcia, Mariano Eddie Espinoza, Andy Espinoza and Jake Villareal.
Honorary pallbearer will be Victor Briseno.
