Asa Paschall

Asa Z Paschall was born on September 1, 1947 to Asa G and Tishia Maye Paschall. He went very peacefully Home on November 29, 2012 at his residence surrounded by his wife and children.
Funeral services are under the direction of Ballard Funeral home and will be held Monday December 3, 2012 at 11am at First Assembly of God Church officiated by his brother Rev Terry Paschall with burial following at South Park Cemetery. Visitation will be at Ballard Funeral Home on Sunday from 3pm to 5pm.
He is survived by his wife Judy Paschall of almost 44 years, his son Asa and wife Kjersten Paschall of Rio Rancho, NM and his daughter Melissa and husband Robbie DeRosier of Roswell, NM, his grandchildren, Keith Jones, Trevor Paschall, Camille Paschall, and Samantha DeRosier, his sisters Betty and husband Claudie Housewright and Gwen Reed, his brothers Bennie and wife Cathy Paschall, and Terry and wife LuLu Paschall, brothersinlaw Tim and Steve Smith, and numerous nieces, nephews, and other family members and friends. He was preceded in death by his parents, sister, Loretta Thockmorton, and his brothersinlaw, Burton Reed and Lonnie Smith.
Asa was a member of First Assembly of God Church in Roswell. He was an electronics engineer and retired in 2003 from Christmas by Krebbs where he served as a production supervisor. He loved working on electronics and on cars. He was passionate about his music. He played the guitar, the drums, the piano and sang. He spent much of his spare time working outside tending to the lawn and picking up pecans in his back yard. Before the age of cell phones, his hobby was CB radios and he talked on his CB almost every day. He was known for his compassionate and giving heart. He frequently made personal sacrifices to help others. He often ministered to people in hospitals, nursing homes, jails, and served many in need of comfort.
He served in the US Navy from October 26, 1967 to October 12, 1973. It was in the Navy that he received his training in electronics which was his elected career path. He loved the sea and signed up for additional service after his mandatory two years of service were complete.
He will be remembered as a man who loved his God, family, country, and anyone he took in as family. Although he will be missed by those who loved him, we all know hes celebrating in his rejuvenated body on the Streets of Gold.
