Arthur Ernest Graven

A funeral service is scheduled for 11:00 a.m., Thursday, January 17, 2008 at Highland Baptist Church for Arthur Ernest Graven, 83, of Roswell who passed away January 13, 2008 in Lubbock, TX. Pastor Richard Smith of Highland Baptist Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery. Roswell Veterans Honor Guard will conduct Military graveside services.

Arthur was born on March 1, 1924 in Muncie, Indiana to Tennyson and Cordelia Graven. His parents have preceded him in death as well as two sons: James Graven and David Graven and one brother: Bill Graven.

Arthur married Celeste A. Varela. She survives him at the family home

Arthur is also survived by his daughter: Charlene Allin; his sisters: Mary Warren and Violet Capriotti; as well as eight grandchildren and eight great grandchildren.

Arthur was a veteran of World War II. He moved to Roswell four years ago coming from Sun City, California. He was a member of the VFW, the Elks Club, Square Dance Club and a member of Highland Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Jacob Varela, Thomas Varela, Esley Robinson, Brian Varela, Donny Varela and Miles.
