Arlines family, friends, and neighbors will celebrate her Life on Wednesday, May 30, 2012 at The First United Methodist Church in Roswell, at 1:00pm. Arline was born October 12, 1921 in Roswell, N.M. to Joe and Viola Long. She lived and worked in Roswell until she married and then returned to Roswell to live out her last years of life. Amazingly, she lived through The Great Depression, two World Wars, and the loss of her only child.
Arline married Major Paul E. Mensing on December 19, 1946 and lived the busy life of an Airforce wife, mother, and homemaker. Their military travels took them to many destinations, two of which were Hawaii and Okinawa. She was very active in the Officers Wives Ladys Auxiliary Committee and enjoyed it very much. Arline was also a member of Senior Circle.
Arline kept herself very sharp by doing daily crossword puzzles, was an avid Bridge player, loved Bingo, won awards for crocheting, and enjoyed sewing. In her early years, she made matching dresses for her daughter and granddaughter. Arline will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother, greatgrandmother, greatgreatgrandmother, friend, and neighbor. She will be greatly missed by all who knew her.
Arline was preceded in death by her husband, Major Paul Mensing, and her beloved daughter, Elizabeth Beth Fields. Arline is survived by her two grandchildren Debbie Fields Rouse and Daniel Fields of Yucalpa, CA seven greatgrandchildren Carolyn Fields, Shayne Rouse, Chad Rouse, Blake Fields, LeeAnn Fields, Joe Fields, Aurora Fields, and Livi Fields two greatgreatgrandchildren Chelsae and James Fields.
A special thank you to her devoted doctors, Dr. Chechani, Dr. Badine, Dr. Feroze and Vista Care Hospice.
