Anna Mary Stiles Goodwin passed away peacefully in her home in Ruidoso on October 30, 2016 after a long, hard fought battle with Alzheimer's disease. Her daughter Patty Goodwin was by her side for the majority of the battle and was with her at the end.
Ann was born on June 11, 1920 to Luther and Amy Stiles of Murray, KY. She moved to Roswell, NM in her teen years. She met and married George C. "Red" Goodwin in 1940 and they resided in Hagerman, NM. The two later moved to Artesia, NM where they spent most of their adult life. Ann began her career in the grocery business at H&J Food Basket. She later worked for Joe Fenn at Fenn's Thriftway and then managed Bulldog Superette and Batey's Thriftway. Ann was a life member of the D.O.E.S. organization as well as the Altrusa organization.
She was preceded in death by her beloved husband George C. "Red" Goodwin, her sisters, Nell Farris and Marelle Andrus both of Murray, KY; her brothers Jake Stiles, and Bill Stiles both of Tyler, TX and her brothers Charlie Stiles and L.C. Stiles both of Roswell, NM.
She is survived by her children, Patty Goodwin of Ruidoso, NM, Eddie Goodwin and wife Carol of Alamogordo, NM and Tommy Goodwin of Murray, KY and her sister-in-law Phyllis Stiles of Roswell, NM. She leaves behind several grandchildren and great grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews whom she adored.
