Angelez Lucero Marquez

A rosary is scheduled for 7 pm, Tuesday, March 5, 2013 at St. Johns Catholic Church for Angelez Lucero Marquez, 84, who passed away on Thursday, February 28, 2013 in Lubbock, TX. A mass is scheduled for 10 am, Wednesday, March 6, 2013 also at St. Johns Catholic Church with Father Gonzalo Moreno officiating. Roswell Veteran Honor Guard will conduct graveside services.

Angelez was born August 2, 1928 in Roswell to Pedro G. Marquez and Juanita Lucero. His parents preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his sister Lydia Ghorley and soninlaw Jaime Aguilar. Angelez married Maria Antonieta Lopez in Larado, TX. on May 8, 1955. They were married 56 years. She survives him of the family home in Roswell. Also surviving him are his daughters Oralia Aguilar of Roswell and Juanita Vigil and husband John of Roswell and his grandchildren Dominic Vigil, Tomas Salazar y Weiler, Kimberly Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar, Hillary Vigil and Rafael Angelez Vigil.

Angelez served his country during the Korean War in the United States Army. He received the Korean Service Medal with 2 Service Stars, United Nations Service Medal National Defense Service Medal and Merit Unit Citation. He worked in maintenance at St. Marys Hospital. Angelez was active in the church as a eucharistic minister, and teacher of catholic education. He received teacher of the year award for CCD in 1977. Angelez loved to tinker with his tools and work on his 1953 Chevy truck. He truly adored his grandchildren and was very friendly with all his neighbors and all people. Angelez enjoyed visiting with all his friends at the Court House Farmers Market.

Serving as pallbearers are his grandchildren Dominic Vigil, Tomas Salazar y Weiler, Kimberly Aguilar, Daniel Aguilar, Hillary Vigil and Rafael Angelez Vigil.

When the believer dies, the body goes into the grave the soul and spirit go immediately to be with the Lord Jesus awaiting the bodys resurrection, when theyre joined together to be forever with the Lord in eternal bliss.
