Alma West, 77, passed away on September 2, 2018 in Roswell, NM. She was born on April 10, 1941 in Carlsbad, NM and grew up riding horses and playing fast pitch softball. She drove a school bus in Alamogordo, NM and was a real estate agent in Albuquerque, NM. She was proceeded in death by her father, Leo Weaver, mother, Alma Weaver-Preas, her oldest sibling Mary Weaver-Garcia, and her granddaughter Brandie Ragan.
She is survived by her siblings Lynn Weaver of Tularosa, NM, Lois Darnold of Roswell, NM, Margie Leiser of Las Cruces, NM, Irene Moore of Houston, TX, and Isaac Weaver of Vado, NM.
Alma has two children, her daughter, Deborah Ragan and husband Melvin Ragan from Aurora, CO, and son, Russell West from Ruidoso, NM. She has six grandchildren, Joshua Ragan and wife Nicole, Joseph Ragan and wife Carla, Thomas Ragan and wife Jennifer, Levi Ragan and wife Cassandra, and Amber West, eleven great grandchildren and one great-great grandson.
Alma was a prolific traveler having visited nearly all fifty states.
She was an avid card player with friends and family. She enjoyed computers, reading and researching Bible history and prophecies, in which she wrote a novel about, and assembling the family lineage.
Alma was a fun-loving mother, grandmother and great grandmother.
The memorial service for Alma West will be held at 3:00pm Saturday, September 8, 2018 at Ballard Funeral Home at 910 S. Main Street with Chaplain Tim Arlet of Kindred Hospice officiating and music performed by David Castro.
