Alice Sharp

Alice Beatrice Goodwin Sharp passed away at her home on the April 18, 2010 at the age of 90. Alice was born in Lynn Massachusetts, to Mable McAvey and Frank Lord Goodwin on November 17, 1919. A t the age of 4 she moved Eliot, Maine where she attended grammar school and high school.
During World War II she responded to the war effort by working at the Portsmouth, New Hampshire Naval Shipyard as a clerk typist. She also worked as a hostess at the local USO where she meet Murray Sharp who she latter married. She attended Weber State College and graduated with a nursing degree in 1965 working many years as a nurse.
In 1988 she and Murray moved to Roswell, NM to be closer to her family and grandchildren. Alice was past president of the Home Garden Club, enjoying the friendships she made there. She worked in genealogy and started the Goodwin family newsletter and later published a book on the Goodwin family genealogy. Alice was a very classy lady, who had an adventurous and generous spirit she touched many lives and lived life to its fullest. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, being a homemaker and attending church. She was a wonderful mother and loved by everyone she met.
She is survived by her son: Gregory Karen Sharp and her daughter Linda Magill. Grandchildren: Kym Sacha Kotlarov, Tonya Alex Torres, Heather Shane Goodman, Craig Leah Sharp, Garret Sharp, Eric Magill, Laura Ryan Price, Patrick Magill Jr., Annie Magill, Will Shea Magill, Zack Melleny Magill, Kate Alice Magill, Andrew Magill, Phillip Magill and 16 great grandchildren.
The family would like to thank all of those who knew, loved and helped Alice through this past year.
A funeral service will be held at 10:00 a.m., Saturday, April 24, 2010 at Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints located at 2201 W. Country Club, Roswell, New Mexico with Bishop Malcom officiating. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
