Alice Honey Cobos Orona
A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Tuesday, October 20, 2009 at the Ballard Funeral home Chapel for Alice Honey Cobos Orona, 69 of Roswell, who passed away October 17, 2009 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, October 21, 2009 at St. Johns Catholic Church. Fr. Juan Montoya, O.F.M of St. Johns Catholic Church will officiate. Burial will follow at South Park Cemetery.
Alice was born on March 29, 1940 to Juan Cobos Sr. and Erminda Salazar Cobos in Roswell, NM. Her parents have preceded her in death as well as her husband Moises Orona, sons Danny Cobos, Raul Roger Guerrero and brother Johnny Cobos.
Alice is survived by her daughters: Gloria and husband Frank Espinoza Jr., Rita and husband Frank Gabaldon, Darlene Gonzales, Diana and husband Joe Ventura; son, Raul Orona and companion Karen, sister, Jeannie and husband Eloy Mireles Jr., grandchildren: Ethan, Frank Filip, Mo Espinoza, Frank Albert, Francine, Cyleste Gabaldon, Adrian, Cisco Gonzales, Sammy Guerrero, Roger, Rena, Geraldine, Moises Orona, Desiree, Autumn Najar, numerous great grandchildren. A special close cousin Mary Seward living in B.C., Special Nephew and Godson Chris Mireles. Several nieces and nephews.
Honey received her name from her daddy, Juan. When he first saw her he called her Honey and it was her name from then on to relative and close family members.
Honey touched many lives. She worked at Roswell Job Corps for almost 18 years. She was an artist, created and made Cardboard objects that were realistic. She use to love to sing when she could and loved her music. He hobbies were shopping, reading, arts and crafts, gardening and looking at the stars.
Pallbearers will be Ethan Espinoza, Cisco Gonzales, Frank Albert Gabaldon, Chris Mireles, Desiree Najar and Roger Orona. Honorary Pallbearers will be Frank Filip and Mo Espinoza, Adrian Gonzales, Sammy Guerrero, Frankie Ventura and Moises Orona.
