Alice Fulkerson

Alice Modell Fulkerson, age 87 of Roswell, NM, passed away August 5, 2014 in Lubbock, Texas. She was born June 14, 1927 in Shamrock, Texas to George and Jennie Clem. She is survived by her son, Danny Fulkerson her daughter, Lynette Rhoads and her husband Rick and grandchildren Donovan Fulkerson and his wife Karen, Jenny Owens and her husband Spencer, Braxton Fulkerson and his wife Angie, Jill Jamison, Megan Burnett and her husband Tyler, Kara Martinez and her husband EJ and Westin Rhoads and his wife Michelle and 18 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents George and Jennie Clem her siblings Melvin and Clifton Clem and Louella Monk her husband Rayford Fulkerson and her son Benjamin Fulkerson.

She graduated high school from Southwestern Assemblies of God College in Waxahachie, TX in 1945. She married Rayford Fulkerson, December 1, 1949. They were married for 54 years before Rayford passed away in January of 2004.

Modell served God faithfully throughout her life. Her loyalty, devotion, and love to her husband, children, and grandgreat grandchildren left a lasting legacy to all who knew her. Her steadfast strength and dedication has set an example her family desires to carry on. In her latter years, Modell enjoyed playing 42, Train and Words with Friends, attending church, and spending time with all of her great grandchildren. Her ever present love for her Lord, quick witted humor and selfless desire to serve others is branded in our memories. This legacy now lives on with future generations. Have fun up there entertaining and serving the heavenly hosts, mom, grandma, great grandma. We will miss you dearly but are proud of your advancement

A gathering of family and friends will be Friday, August 8, 2014 from 57 pm at Ballard Funeral Home. Funeral services are scheduled for 10 am, Saturday, August 9, 2014 at First Assembly of God with Rev. Jerry Roberts officiating with Rev. Forest Srader and Rev. Melvin Suttle of First Assembly of God assisting. Burial will follow at Memory Lawn Memorial Park.

Serving as pallbearers are Donovan Fulkerson, Tyler Burnett, Westin Rhoads, E J Martinez, Braxton Fulkerson, Christian Fulkerson. Honorary pallbearer is Jack Retherford.
