Alice Sue Bevers

There will be a graveside service held at 3:00 p.m., Friday, March 20, 2009 at South Park Cemetery for Alice Sue Bevers, 57 of Roswell who passed away March 19, 2009 at her home. Pastor Richard Grisham of Bethel Baptist Church will officiate.

Alice was born on August 1, 1951 to Otis Helmstetler and Ester Looney Helmstetler in Roswell, New Mexico. Her mother survives her in Roswell.

Alice married Kenneth Bevers on August 9, 1996 in Roswell, New Mexico. He survives her at the family home.

Alice is also survived by her sister: Dorothy Mulvihill of Roswell; her aunts and uncles: Steve Looney of Roswell, Tommy and Vickie Pacheco of Clovis, John and Arvella Helmstetler of Carlsbad, Travis and Delores Helmstetler of Roswell, Mike and Joyce McCullah of Weldon, CA, Kenneth Helmstetler of Las Cruces, NM, Bill and Virginia Helmstetler of Axle, TX and Willie Howard of El Reno, OK

Alice was a member of Bethel Baptist Church. She worked for the Roswell School District for 28 years and some of her fondest memories where her former students would come up to her to give her a hug and ask if she remembered them.

She appreciated and wanted to thank Mary Maes and the staff at Mesa Middle School for all that they did for her and her family. She often remembered the good times she shared with her long time friends, Danny Salcido, Emma Riva, Barbara Williams, H.P. Hale and Dale and Ruby Staten.

The family would like to thank Marilyn Noble and staff at Southwest Cancer Center in Lubbock, TX and Marty Rogers at Roswell Medical Clinic for their care and compassion during her illness.
