Louie Romero went on his journey to Heaven on Friday, January 15, 2016 when he lost his brief battle to cancer. Louie was born July 20, 1956 to Joe and Eufemia Romero.
A Vigil with Rosary is scheduled 7 pm, Wednesday, January 20, 2016 at Ballard Funeral Home. Mass of Resurrection is scheduled for 10 am, Thursday, January 21, 2016 at Assumption Catholic Church with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery.
Louie enjoyed playing golf. He played on the golf team for Goddard High School. Louie played with his uncle Arnold Madril, Cecil Sandles and professional golfer Nancy Lopez. He has many "Hole in One" trophies that he was proud of. After high school he got a job at Spring River Golf Course. Up until he got sick he enjoyed hanging out at the golf course giving people pointers.
On January 7, 1983 Louie was in a horrible motorcycle accident that left him paralyzed. The doctors said he would never walk again but to their surprised with rehab he proved everybody wrong. Years later he got out of his wheelchair and was able to walk on his own. Louie was a big sports fan. He never missed a game, His favorite basketball team was the Lakers and he loved his football team the Washington Redskins.
Louie is preceded in death by his father Joe Romero, his brother Gilbert Romero; Uncle Benny Aragon; grandparents Roque and Esprfia Romero and Jimmy and Nora Madril. He is survived by his mother Eufemia Romero; aunt that he lived with Ester Romero; sisters Evelyn Longoria and her husband Danny and Lisa Medina and her husband Manuel; brothers Felix Romero and his wife Theresa and Roque Romero; uncles Lou and Naomi Madril, Arnold and Clara Madril, Ambrose and Josefina Madril and James Madril; aunts Eva Aragon, Mary Zamora and Inez Tafoya.
Serving as pallbearers are his godson's Gilbert Romero and Johnny Medina, his brothers Roque Romero, Danny Longoria and Manuel Medina and his special friend Eddie Richardson. Honorary are Felix Romero, Arnold Madril, Lou Madril, Sammy Gamboa and special friends Ernest Garcia, Cecil Sandles, Billy Bartlett, and Victor Torres.
