Alfred Clinton Jim Jones

Graveside services are scheduled for 3:00 pm, Tuesday, September 27, 2011 at South Park Cemetery for Alfred Clinton Jim Jones 93, who passed away Saturday, September 24, 2011 at his home surrounded by loved ones. Pastor Richard Smith of Highland Baptist Church will be officiating. Visitation will be held on Monday, September 26, 2011 from 1:00 to 7:00 pm at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel.

Jim was born December 16, 1917 in Bokchito, Oklahoma to Harve and Naoma Tadlock Jones. His parents preceded him in death. He is also preceded in death by his wives Gladys Agnes Jones and Opal Reese Jones and two of his daughters Shirley Freeman and Joy Barrett.

Jims greatest accomplishment was his family. He is survived by his son Gary Jones and wife Linda of Artesia, NM daughter Kaye Costello and husband Mike of Roswell Eight grandchildren Terry Freeman Mike Barrett and wife Paula Johnny Barrett Rhonda Barrett Carolyn Baker and husband Dusty Kristy Hamilton and husband Jimmy Carla Costello Cari Jowers and husband Phillip Seven great grandchildren Chance Barrett Katelyn Barrett Paige Baker Logan Baker Abigail Jowers Jackson Jowers Kolton Hamilton soninlaws Ducky Freeman and wife Jannie John Barrett and wife Branka and his beloved dog Honey.

Jim has lived in Roswell since 1942 coming from Bokchito, Oklahoma. He was a member of Highland Baptist Church. Jim worked at Virgil Grantham Farm as a Farm Foreman from 1942 to 1974 and South Park Cemetery as a Cemetery Sexton from 1974 to 1988. He was an avid wood worker and loved cooking pecan pies and sharing them with family and friends. Jim really enjoyed gardening vegetables, he would supply everyone that he could with them. The thing that he enjoyed the most was to walk his dog Honey.
