A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 p.m., Wednesday, May 12, 2010 at the Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Alex L. Thompson, 60 of Roswell who passed away May 10, 2010 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A graveside service is scheduled for 10:00 a.m., Thursday, May 13, 2010 at South Park Cemetery.
Alex was born on June 4, 1949 in Roswell, NM to Charlie E. Thompson Sr. and Susie Smith Thompson. His parents have preceded him in death as well as grandmother, Adela Smith and his loving wife Yolanda Jimenez Thompson.
Alex is survived by his son: Alex Jr. his daughter: Valerie Thompson and his grandchildren: Santiago A. Franco, Xochil L. Franco, Fernando Damian, Eziquie A. Damians, Mario A. Uribe and Angel Archuleta his loving Aunt and Uncle: Dick and Josie Montoya his brothers: Charlie E. Thompson Jr., Joe Thompson and wife Darla of Roswell his sisters: Mary Smith, Olivia Thompson and Edith Hinojosa and husband Oscar of Roswell also by the loving mother of his children: Nadine Franco plus numerous nieces, nephews, great nieces and nephews and many loving cousins.
Alex was a life long resident of Roswell and left behind a heart of gold and a well know name for his boxing talent during his youthful years. He loved his family and friends. He would never do wrong by them.
Pallbearers will be Joe Thompson, Charlie E. Thompson Jr., Oscar Hinojosa Sr., Ernie Montoya, Rick Montoya and Ronnie Montoya. Honorary Pallbearers are nieces: Yvette Jaramillo, Yvonne Jaramillo and Priscilla Jaramillo.
