A rosary will be held at 7:00 Wednesday, November 8, 2006 at Ballard Funeral Chapel for Alcario Ike Montoya Marquez. A mass will be 10:00 a.m., Thursday, November 9, 2006 at Ballard Funeral Chapel. Deacon Jesus Herrea will officiate. Ike will be cremated after the services, as per his wishes.

Alcario was born January 5, 1935 in Artesia New Mexico to Antoclo and Luz Marquez. He had passed away at home with all his family by his bedside at the age of 71 on November 6, 2006. He is preceded in death by his parents, one son Henry Joe Marquez and one sister Cecelia Navarette, grandparents Petra Montoya and Husband Anastacio Montoya, Dometerio Marquez and Porfiria Marquez.

Alcario was married to Cecelia Wera Jimenez on July 7, 1979. She survives him at the family home.

Alcario is also survived by his son: Joe Pete Samario and his wife Candy of Roswell; two daughters: Linda Candelaria and husband Larry as well as their son Henry, Clara Samario and husband Arnold Madril; four brothers: Anastacio Tacho Marquez and wife Lisa of Artesia, NM, Sammy Marquez of Artesia, NM, Tony Marquez and wife Gracie of Artesia, NM, Rudy Marquez and wife Viola of Bosque Farms, NM; two sisters Virgie Velarde and husband Robert of Los Lunas, NM, Lupe Romero and husband Victor of Artesia, NM and a brother in law Jimmy Navarette of Artesia; one aunt: Carol Navarrette of California six grandchildren: Joe Florentino Sam and wife Chelsea, Priscilla, Jacob, Henry, Leola, Jimmy and his girlfriend Mel and several step grandchildren; three great grandchildren: Adriana, Mariah and Aubrey and Step Great Grandchildren, Several Nephews and Nieces and lots of family and friends.

Alcario was in the Army National Guard for Seven years and worked as a Warehouse Sales Supervisor at Pecos Sales for 18 years.
