Albert “Peedy” Ortega
On September 4, 2021 Peedy went up to Heaven. He was born on September 4, 1967 to Albert Herrera and Alice Ortega in Roswell, NM.
Peedy was a wonderful and loving Dad, Pampo, Brother, Uncle, Cousin, and friend. He enjoyed and loved spending time with grandkids, he looked forward to picking them up on the weekends and going on Target runs and after eating at Ihop. Peedy also enjoyed doing camping and hunting with his uncle Robert. He took pride in cooking especially when barbequing with family on Saturdays and listening to Art Laboe while having a beer. Peedy loved his other half, his rock, his sister Cheryl Ortega. They did everything together; they were two peas in a pod. His kids and grandkids were everything to him, he would do anything and everything for them. He loved to make people laugh, smile and loved playing jokes on people. Peedy was a huge Dallas Cowboy fan, but if they lost you knew not to talk to him for couple of days.
Peedy is preceded in death by his grandson LeRoy Madrid; nephew Zack Perez; dad Albert Herrera; mom Alice Ortega; grandparents Susie and Lonico Ortega and Makikia and Antonio Herrera.
Those left to cherish his memory are his kids Merissa Ortega and Teeka, Alicia Ortega, Gabriel Ortega, and Zack Herrera; grandkids Aubryanna and Marciano Madrid, Tiffany Ortega, Adalyn, and Aria Lucero; sisters Melissa Hoffman and husband Jim, Cheryl Ortega and Sandra Ortega and Erika Herrera and brother Carlos Porras and Christian Martinez.
On behalf of his kids, we would like to thank everyone who has checked up on us.

Remember (a little while)
Fill not your heart with pain and sorrow,
But remember me in every tomorrow.
Remember the joy, the laughter, the smile.
I’ve only gone to rest for a little while.
Although my leaving causes pain and grief,
My going has eased my hurt and given me relief.
So dry your eyes and remember me,
Not as I am now. But as I used to be.
Because I will remember you all,
And look on with a smile.
Understand in your hearts,
I’ve only gone to rest for a little while.
