Albert F. Kochan

Albert (Al) Kochan, 79, passed away on Wednesday, December 16, 2020 In Roswell, NM. Al was born August 24,1941 in Canon City, Colorado to John and Agnes Kochan. Al graduated from Canon City High in 1959 and in 1964 he graduated from Colorado State College, Greeley, Colorado (now the University of Northern Colorado.) While in Greeley, Al met and married his wife of 57 years, Sherry (Beidleman) Kochan. Upon graduation Al and Sherry moved to Carlsbad, NM where Al began a 30-year teaching career. Moving to Roswell in 1968, Al spent the next 26 years with the Roswell Independent School District as a teacher and counselor, retiring in 1994. His retirement years were spent doing just those things he enjoyed, trips to Ruidoso and caring for the many animals he and Sherry adopted over the years.

Al was preceded in death by his parents. He is survived by his wife, one son, Ken Kochan, MD of Champaign, IL and one brother, John Kochan (Pat) of Dallas, TX.
