Funeral services for Albena Ramirez have been scheduled for 12:10 p.m., Tuesday, September 1, 2009 at Assumption Catholic Church with burial to follow at South Park Cemetery. Albena passed away Sunday, August 30, 2009 at Casa Maria Health Care Center. She was a member of Assumpton Catholic Church.

Albena was born April 10th, 1911 in Arabela, N.M. to Jesus and Armanda Maes. Preceding her in death is husband Santiago Ramirez, five brothers, Domingo Maes, Trinidad Maes, Adolfo Maes, Joses Reyes Maes and Mike Maes; four sisters Rosavra Archuleta, Dominga Sedillo, Reyes Torrez and Epifinia Candelaria. Also preceding her in death are three daughters, Dominga Ramirez, Flora Esparza and Sarah Alvarado.

She is survived by one sister, Molly Gonzales of L.A., CA; one son, Santiago Ramirez and wife Mary of Albuquerque, NM; five daughters, Eva Salcido and husband Albert of Roswell, Amy Salsberry of L.A., CA, Cecilia Jemenez and husband Belen of Long Beach, CA, Grace Lopez and husband Alfonso of Tucson, AZ and Ramona Mestas and husband Arthur of Roswell. She is also survived by twenty nine grandchildren, fifty one great grandchildren, twenty three great, great grandchildren and numerous nephews and nieces.

Albena was a homemaker in Roswell until 1966 and left to L.A., CA for employment and lived there until 1976. She moved to San Patricia, NM and lived there until 1979 and then returned to Roswell.

Pallbearers will be Belen Jemenez, Jason Jemenez, Alfonso Lopez, Ramon Mestas, Anthony Ramirez and Reyes Sanchez.
