Lee was born on April 29, 1956 in Roswell, NM to Dr. Alan Lee Staley Sr. and Olive Marie Hoffman Staley. His parents have preceded him in death.

Lee is survived by his sister: Linda Worley and husband Dwayne of Roswell; his nieces and nephews: Desri Worley of Belen, New Mexico, Alan Worley of Roswell, NM and Richard Sudderth of Abilene, TX; his great nieces and nephews: Jessica Sudderth of Roswell, Richard Sudderth of Auburndale, Fl and Caleb Kimberly of Roswell.

Lee has lived in Roswell since 1998 moving from Abilene, TX. He graduated from Cooper High School in Abilene, TX in 1974. Lee was of the Methodist faith.
