Adan Meraz

A rosary is scheduled for 7:00 PM, Friday, February 7, 2014 at Ballard Funeral Home Chapel for Adan Soto Meraz, 87, who passed away on Sunday, February 2, 2014 at Eastern New Mexico Medical Center. A funeral mass will be celebrated by Father Gonzalo Moreno of St. Johns Catholic Church at 11:00 A.M., Saturday, February 8, 2014 at St. Peters Catholic Church.

Adan was born October 21, 1926 in Chihuahua, Mexico to Jesus and Paufosa Soto Meraz. His parents preceded him in death. Adan married Anita Acosta she survives him at the family home. Also surviving him are his sons Jesus Meraz of Chihuahua, Mexico, Javier Meraz and Adan Jr. of Chihuahua, Mexico, Armando Meraz of Albuquerque, NM daughters Luz Elena Meraz of Chihuahua, Mexico, Priscilla Meraz Salcido of Roswell, NM and Maria Meraz of Chihuahua, Mexico sisters Manuela Meraz, Eva Meraz, Ustalia Meraz, Jenovivia Meraz, Jusensia Meraz. He is also survived by numerous grandchildren.

Adan was a resident of Roswell for 50 years and a member of St. Johns Catholic Church. He enjoyed taking care of the family home, working in the yard and gardening, he enjoyed just being outdoors.
