Acea Adwin Green Sr.

Mr. Acea Adwin Green Sr. passed away on Tuesday, February 26, 2008 at a local care center. A Graveside service is scheduled for 1:30, Friday, February 29, 2008 at Memory Lawn Memorial Park. Rev. Jack Ferguson will officiate.

Acea was born on February 14, 1919 to John E. and Martha Elizabeth McGill Green in Roswell, NM. His parents have preceded him in death as well as two brothers: Kenneth Green and Charles Green and two sisters: Nadaine Green, Dorothy Wade and Bessie Jeffery.

Acea married Lois Ann DeBorde on November 10, 1940 in Roswell, NM. His wife preceded him in death on February 25, 1998.

Acea is survived by his sons: Acea A. Green Jr. of Lubbock, TX and Charles W. Green and wife Shonda of Roswell; his daughters: Martha Ann Gibson and husband Malcolm of Bastrop, TX and Judy Irwin and husband William of Lubbock, TX; 14 grandchildren, and 26 great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews.

Acea was a Christian man and a life long resident of Roswell. He worked as a supervisor at Pecos Valley Cotton Seed Oil Mill for twenty five years and was one of the largest apiary keeper Bee Keeper in the Pecos Valley. He was a past member of the Board of the Chaves County Independent School District and former Scout Master for the Conquistador Council. Acea was also a member of the Odd Fellows and the Eagles as well as the Mt. View Baptist Church.

Pallbearers will be Andrew Scott Green, Joe R. Gomez Jr., Stuart Shiller, Justin Waide Helton, Charles Green and Acea Green Jr. and alternate pallbearer Terry Johnson II.
