Genevieve A Jones, age 95, passed away peacefully at her home on May 1, 2015, with family at her side.
Genevieve was born in Kenna, New Mexico, on May 11, 1919, to Emma and John Jones. She was one of eight children: Lester Ratliff, Johnnie Jones, Lena Carr, Jewel Williams, Bernard Jones, Lovita Thompson, all deceased, and Juanita Adamson, living in Texas. She was also preceded in death by her husband J. W. Jones.
Survivors include Howard Jones and wife Kay of Roswell, Nancy Rose and husband Jim of Phoenix, Arizona, Wanda Robertson and husband Dick (deceased) of Redding, California, Gary and wife Nora of Roswell, and Lauri Arthur of Roswell. She is also survived by 11 grandchildren: Kevin Jones, Darci Blach, Keith Jones, Amy Hughs, Julie Meyer, Kimberly Robertson, Kevin Robertson, Aaron Jones, Lindsey Rominsky, Tommy Arthur and Quinton Arthur, and 17 great grandchildren.
Genevieve and her husband J.W. have lived in Roswell since 1939. They ran a business together, JW Jones Plumbing, Heating and Mechanical Contracting, and raised their family. Genevieve was a member of Pythian Sisters, the women's group of the Knights of Columbus, and AB WA. She also supported many community clubs and organizations. She was a member of First Baptist.
Graveside services are scheduled for 2pm, Monday, May 4, 2015 at South Park Cemetery with Pastor Aaron Colyer of First Baptist Church officiating.
