Bernard J. Angel passed away on October 27, 2014, at the age of 91.
He was born on December 7, 1922, in Porter New Mexico. Bernie served in the United States Army during World War II. He was stationed in Italy and North Africa. He started his career as a car salesman at Tucumcari Motor Company where he worked for 35 years. He had two post retirement jobs and worked until the age of 87. Bernie believed that work was the key to the fountain of youth. He went back to work two weeks after his first retirement stating that there was only so much television a man could watch.
Bernie is survived by Lucy Angel and their five children. Melinda and her spouse, Isidro Gonzlez Deborah Angel Morris Angel and his wife, Nadine Connie and her spouse, Salvador Aldaz, and Helen and her spouse, Carl Fitzgerald. He was blessed with fourteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren. Bernie is also survived by his sister, Frances Wolfe and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral arrangements are planned for Saturday, November 1, 2014 at St. Annes Catholic Church at 10:00 am with a rosary on Friday, October 31, 2014, at 6 pm also at St. Annes in Tucumcari, NM.
