Luke Thompson, 83, was born in Trent Texas April 4, 1935 and died at his home, in Roswell New Mexico,
on June 9, 2018.

He was raised in Big Springs, Texas where he graduated high school and attended Big Springs
Community College. He also attended Waco University before being drafted in the United States Army in
1956.

Luke is survived by his ex-wife Pat Thompson of Roswell NM, son Robert Thompson and daughter-in-law
Dayle of Roswell NM. He has two Grandchildren, Amber Thompson of Manhattan KS and Justin
Thompson of Avondale AZ. Also brother-in-law Ireland McCormick and sister-in-law Gearline
Thompson, along with nieces and nephews.

Luke is preceded in death by his parents, Beulah Henson Thompson and Julian Murdock Thompson and
his siblings JW Thompson and Jueldeen McCormick.

During his adult life, Luke was fortunate to enjoy his passion every day as a Golf Professional, running
various Country Clubs around the Southwest, including his final location at Roswell Country Club. He
taught many people, including children how to play golf and was a very talented instructor. When not
at work, Luke enjoyed raising and riding quarter horses with his wife and son.

Per his request, there will be no service. In lieu of flowers, donations are encouraged for "The First
Tee" a youth sports organization whose mission is to grow the game of golf by transforming the
experience that kids (and families) have with the sport.
